No one wants to live in a place where there is a life threatening problem with air quality. Be on the lookout for cracked or peeling paint. Also be on the lookout for walls and ceilings that are discolored. These are all signs of an impending mold problem. If you see any rust or condensation, run don't walk out of that place.
Of course, if you see a place that you really want to purchase or lease and you suspect that there is a mold problem, you can always hire a reputable mold testing company to come and investigate. They will be able to tell you if the infestation is mild enough so it can be treated or if the infestation is so severe that the home is not safe for anyone. If you take the proper precautions now, you can avoid a lifetime of health conditions, enormous medical bills and loss of investment.
